Mrs. Käthe Van de Geijn is a mouth painter and was born on June 25, 1960 in Krimpen. She lived in Krimpen for about one year and then moved to Bleidorp where she stayed until she was 14. Later the family moved to Schiebroek. During this time the contracted syringomyelia. The artist cannot use her hands, and she cannot walk. All her life she has been interested in drawing and embroideries with her hands, later, however, she could only use her mouth to draw and write. At the age of 21 she finished secondary school. She now shares a flat with other people. At lthe moment Mrs. Van de Geijn is taking lessons to learn to paint watercolours with her mouth.
