Marthinus Jakobus Pretorius was born on 12 May 1956 in Cradock. In December 1987, he become a quadriplegic due to a diving accident and injury to the spine. Because of this, his limbs were completely paralyzed. Some years later Martinus began with mouth painting, which he learned autodidactically. In 1996 the association granted him a scholarship. His work proved his artistic talent. Sadly the mouth artist passed away on April 15, 2020.
